Yu-Gi-Oh! Last Will

Episode 4: Rebirth!

Many months had passed since the last sighting of the villains who had managed to decimate our heroes. Most of the team had written it off as just a one time occurrence, except for two. Cole and Austin felt these beings’ powers first hand. It was clear they would be a force to be reckoned with. They often thought back to that fateful day…

He began laughing hysterically yet again. "Sorry my friends, but I fear this will be the end of our adventure... for now. Come Bonecrusher, the master eagerly awaits our return! Hahaha!"

"Wait! Why did you come just to not defeat us?" Cole asked.

"Oh dear child, you have no idea what the real purpose of this was. We were never here to defeat you, we came to assess you. We came to test you. We came to see if you were a threat to be reckoned with. You failed. Do yourselves a favor and stay out of our way. Let's go."

Who was the master they reported to? Why did they come only to disappear? What was there end goal? Try as they might to come up with an explanation, these questions seemingly went unanswered. There was no one to tell what exactly could come of this. For the time, they tried to forget all that had happened.

“Hey guys! Have you heard?” A tall, handsome figure had popped in on the group’s train of thought. His name was Bryson and he had some very exciting news to share. “There is going to be a dueling tournament held in Bristol! All the greatest duelists in the world are going to be there to show off their skills in the new state of the art projection dome! They are flushing out the speedway just to incorporate it! It’s going to be huge!”

“Yeah, we’ve heard,” said Austin, “We also heard that you have to be a top of the line duelist just to enter. That means having played 50 duels with at least a 70% win rate. And the tournament starts this weekend! It’s hopeless!”

“It’s not hopeless you guys.” A figure had popped into the group’s conversation once again. This time, William was the heard voice.

“William, how can we manage to get that many duels in?”

William reached into his pocket and pulled out a little pendant. It was the shape of a star but only one piece of the start was filled in.

“No way! Is that a qualification star?!?” Austin screamed at his friend.

“It sure is. See, I told you guys it wasn’t hopeless! You just have to do your very best and if it’s meant to happen it will! You’re all great duelists. Much better than I am. I’m sure that you all could get the wins easily!”

With that he disappeared. He had inspired the crew to earn their way into the tournament, if for nothing else, to see the sweet dueling holograms. And so the race was on! All of the team gathered up their decks and headed out. They each split up not wanting to hurt each other’s records, at least not yet.

Bryson walked around Bristol. He kept his eyes peeled for an opponent. He was ready to continue his quest to earn his star! He had already played 35 games and won most of them so all he had to do was win a few more!

“How dare you!” Bryson heard someone yelling from the building next to him. “You can’t just kick me out of here! I have a right to be here!”

“Kid, you tried to steal an entire rack of food! You’re lucky I don’t call the cops on you! Now scram!” The old shop owner was irritated with the young boy. The boy was wearing all worn out clothes, and his face was dirty.

“I won’t go anywhere! Not until you give me some food!”

“That’s it! I’m calling the cops!”

Bryson hurriedly ran over to the young boy. “Hang on sir, you don’t have to do that!”

“And just who are you?” The boy had turned to Bryson to ask him.

“I’m the guy who’s going to save your skin. Now hush!”

“I didn’t ask for your help!” The boy was frustrated with Bryson. He glanced him over to see if he could take him in a fight. He clearly couldn’t. But in his search he found that Bryson had a duel disk and so must be a duelist! “So,” he asked, “Are you a duelist?”

      “Yes, I am.”

“And I suppose you are going to try to win so you can join the tournament, no?”

“Yeah. Wait are you a duelist too?”

“I am. What do you say we make a wager?” asked the boy.

“What kind of wager?” Bryson’s interest was peaked.

“You beat me in a duel, I’ll leave. I beat you in a duel, you have to buy me food for a year!”

Bryson was curious about this kid. He was also a little nervous about his offer. Nevertheless, he had to get in his duels, so he accepted the kids challenge.

“Before we start kid, I wanna know what your name is.”

“The name’s Michael! You better remember it because you’ll be having to bring me lots of food!”

      “Not on your life kid.”

      “Let’s duel!” They screamed.

Bryson 8000 Michael 8000

“I’ll kick things off,” said Bryson. “I’ll activate the spell card known as Black Whirlwind! Now when I summon a Blackwing monster I can add another with less attack than the one I summoned. Next off, I’ll summon Blackwing - Kris the Crack of Dawn! ATK 1900 Now my Whirlwind activates and adds Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind to my hand! While I’m at it I’ll use it’s special ability to special summon it because I have a Blackwing monster. Come on out Gale! ATK 1300 Now I use my level three Gale to tune my level four Kris to perform a synchro summon! I summon out my Blackwing Armor Master!” ATK 2500 He thought to himself that it would be a nice defensive start to see what his opponent was playing and how to counter him. “Finally I’ll throw two cards face down and pass it over to you Michael!”

“Then it’s time for you to see my true power! Prepare yourself, because you will not be winning this duel!” Michael began to laugh maniacally and Bryson began to sense a danger looming over the duel.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Last Will

Episode 3: The Phantom Menace!

Previously on Yu-Gi-Oh! Last Will, the gang had just finished a tiresome day at locals. Upon their departure, they were attacked by a cloaked figure! No one got a look at the figure’s face, but it was obvious which direction the culprit went. The chase was on! The gang followed blindly. It was not long before Austin thought to himself that this might be a trap. His worst fears were confirmed as they ran around and found themselves at a dead end. Just as they got to the alley, a bulky figure fell from the roof-top and blocked their path. He was a very muscular man and it was obvious that he was not to be messed with on any occasion. Then Austin glanced up as someone began to shout from the roof-top facing the dead end. The voice was booming and sounded sinister and muffled, “Greetings gentlemen! It seems now the show can begin!”

He proceeded to jump from the building and made a swift landing that no normal person could survive. He wore a mask with an interesting design. Half of the face was covered in black and yet the other of light. The mask also had several different designs on it, chief amongst which was the line that went down the eye, almost resembling that of a scar. The mouth of the mask was locked in a smile on the left and yet was frowning on the right. “Forgive me my fellow friends. It would seem as though I might not have made quite the first impression intended.”

“You seem like a psychotic sociopath to me,” Cole said without hesitation.

“Oh, never mind then. It seems it was the exact wanted impression! Hahaha!” The man then began to laugh hysterically. Then the other man spoke with a voice of annoyance.

“Will you quit fooling around already?”

The first man stopped laughing and regained his composure almost immediately. “You’ll have to forgive me. I go a bit, crazy at times; it’s just sometimes it’s hard to listen to all the voices! Hahahaha! My name is Bizarre and that beefy fellow is Bonecrusher! Pleasure to make your acquaintance.” Bizarre then took a bow.

“I told you not to name us! And Bonecrusher was the best you could come up with? Seriously?” Bonecrusher’s voice seemed beyond irritation. You could easily tell that Bizarre was quite clearly out of his mind for angering this behemoth.

“Will you pipe down already? We have to appear united, even if your breath does reek of nachos.”

“I am going to end you one day Bizarre!”

“Hahaha, I’d love to see you try.” His voice lowered and his eyes, though barely visible, changed to match a more serious demeanor. “Now then let us get on with this before Bonecrusher has an aneurism. We have come to duel your leader!” The boys looked at each other confused. “Allow me to rephrase,” said Bizarre, “Either send forward your leader or none of you will live to see the light of day!”

Austin and Cole both stepped forward.

“I see, well if you two can’t decide on a leader, I guess I will just have to duel you both.” Bizarre said as his form split into two different beings. One being had the smile portion of the mask and the other had the frown. “Come on then,” Smile said. His excitement was clear and he seemed to enjoy this job.

“Time is of the essence,” said Frown. His voice was low and monotone.

“I got the ugly one,” said Cole.

“Which one?” Austin responded.

“Hahahaha you are a riot! I want to face you!” Smile said with his sickening grin pointing to Cole.

“You just made the biggest mistake of your life pal!” Cole spoke fiercely as he prepared for his battle against Smile.

“Come face me Austin,” Frown said.

“How do you know my name?” Austin was shocked!

“I know much more than you might think.” It was clear Frown was not a talker.

“Well then, when I defeat you, you must tell me everything you know about all of us and why you want to duel us!”

“Fine. Let us begin.” Frown speech was cleaner, more sophisticated, and it seemed as though he was a grown adult.

Austin 8000 Frown 8000

"The first move will be mine!" Frown said. "I will play 3 cards face-down. With this, I end my turn."

"Then I will make my move! I draw!" Austin gazed on his hand. It consisted of Skill Drain, Jaiotu, Taotie, Chiwen, Solemn Warning, and topped it off with an Effect Veiler. Austin was ecstatic. "Alright! I'll kick things off with the normal summon of Jaiotu, Darkness of the Yang Zing!" Atk 0

"Next I'll activate his effect! By discarding two Yang Zing cards from my hand to the grave, I can special summon 1 Yang Zing monster with 0 attack and 1 with 0 defense."

"Activate trap card, Breakthrough Skill."

"What! I still lost my Taotie and Chiwen! Nice move!"

"Spare me the pleasantries. I came here only to duel you." Frown stuck with his depressed demeanor.

"Very well. I will set 2 cards face down and end my turn."

"Turn begin. I activate Reinforcement of the Army. I will add Evilswarm Castor to my hand." Next I will normal summon Evilswarm Castor. This card allows me to summon another Evilswarm monster from my hand. I summon Evilswarm Thunderbird. Next, I build the overlay network and XYZ summon Evilswarm Ophion." Atk 2550

"Not so fast! I activate my trap card, Solemn Warning! I assure you though; this card is no mere warning! At the cost of 2000 life points, I can negate the summon of one of my opponent's monsters!"

Austin 6000 Frown 8000

"I activate my trap card, Wiretap. This card negates the activation of your trap card and shuffles it back into the deck." Austin was speechless. Frown was no ordinary opponent. He had all of the answers. What else did he have in store he thought? "Now that your little charade is over, I will activate Ophion's effect. This will add one Evilswarm spell or trap card from my deck to my hand."

"Chain! Skill Drain! Now at the cost of 1000 life points, all monster effects will be negated!"

Cole 8000 Smile 8000

"I'll be taking in this match!" Smile spoke with a sickening grin on his face. "I'll place a monster in face-down defense position and I will set four cards face down. This will end my turn! You're move funny man!"

"Alright then, I draw! I'll lead off by summoning my Tour Guide from the Underworld!" Atk 1000

"Now, I can special summon one level 3 fiend type monster from my deck!"

"Ah, ah, ah," Smile said wagging his finger. "Reveal trap card, Vanity's Emptiness! Sorry funny boy, no special summons for either of us!"

"I know what the card does, genius. That's why I play this card, Mystical Space Typhoon! Looks like the last laugh is mine!"

"Oh no! Whatever will I do? Oh woe is me! Oh wait, nevermind! Activate Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror!"

"Who main decks Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror?" Cole asked.

"A man with a forehand knowledge of his opponents deck! Haha! I'm kind of cheating!"

"Whatever," Cole said, "I'll special summon Graff, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss. Then I will overlay the two for Dante, Traveler of the Burning Abyss. The turn is yours." Def 2500

"Oooooo. Activate trap! Geargiagear! Now I can special summon two level 3 Geargiano monsters from my deck and they gain 1 level! I special summon Geargiano and Geargiano Mk-II. Then I'll start my turn. I overlay my Geargiano monsters for the amazing Geargigant X!" Atk 2300

"Next his effect will add a Geargiaccelerator from my deck to my hand! Then I will flip summon my Geargiarmor which then adds another Geargiaccelerator from my deck to my hand. Then I will special summon both of the Geargiaccelerator. Wow this is long winded! Now I overlay the Geargiaccelerators for another Geargigant X! Then he will detach and add the Geargiaccelerator that he detached. Then I will special summon the Geargiaccelerator and overlay him and the Geargiarmor for another Geargigant X! Then I will detach again and add a Geargiano Mk-II from my deck to my hand! Then I will normal summon him and with this your fate is almost sealed!" Atk 1000

"His effect activates and will now special summon Geargiarmor from my graveyard!" Def 1900

Austin 5000 Frown 8000

"When will you learn? Reveal face-down, Mystical Space Typhoon. It would seem as though you lost all those life points for nothing." Frown said with the same monotone low voice he had been using.

"Not quite. I chain my Effect Veiler from my hand. Looks like Ophion won't be searching your deck anytime soon!"

"I must admit, I am impressed. However, your Jaiotu is as good as gone. Go Ophion destroy his Jaiotu!

Austin 2450 Frown 8000

"Now that Jaiotu has been destroyed I can special summon 1 Yang Zing from my deck, so Suanni, Fire of the Yang Zing, rise and take his place!" Atk 1900

"Very well. It matters not. I end my turn." Frown said confidently.

"Draw!" Austin looked down at the spell card. This was his big break! "I activate Book of Moon! This will flip your Ophion face-down!" Def 1650

"Now, Suanni, attack his set Ophion! With this I end my turn."

"I draw. Normal summon, Evilswarm Kerykeion. I activate his effect. Now I banish Evilswarm Thunderbird to add Evilswarm Castor to my hand. Then I get an additional normal summon. Go Evilswarm Castor. I build the overlay network and XYZ summon Castel, the Skyblaster Musketeer." Atk 2000

"Now Castel, activate your effect and bounce his Suanni to his deck."

"Oh no! I have nothing left!"

"Now Castel, attack Austin directly."

Austin 450 Frown 8000

"It would seem as though you are on the brink of defeat. This was far easier than I had ever expected. You lay on the ground now the shell of a once great warrior. Now you are nothing but a pathetic excuse of a life that needs to be removed!" Frown left his monotone voice for the first time and he and Smile spoke this phrase at the same time, in the same voice.

Cole 8000 Smile 8000

"Now I activate the card to seal your demise. I activate Compulsory Evacuation Device! This card will return your Dante to the extra deck, but since your Graff is under a Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror he will not activate. So sorry funny boy!" Cole stood and watched as his ace monster was returned to his extra deck. "Now then let's roll out Geargia! Battle phase!"

It was clear this game was lop-sided and Cole was in bad shape. He looked over to Austin as his friend triumphed over his opponent's monster. If only he could have the same luck as Austin did. Cole looked back just in time to be punched by a giant machine monstrosity! This was replicated 2 more times! Cole's life points took a beating and his life fell to a low count.

Cole 1100 Smile 8000

This was not the end of the assault. Finally I small gear came up and knocked Cole down just as he had regained his balance. Cole fell to the ground and with it, his life points took a hit.

Cole 100 Smile 8000

Cole glanced over as Austin's last line of defense was returned to his deck. This could have been the end of both of them they had failed.

As Austin fell he landed next to Cole. The two looked at each other. They were on their last ropes. They each knew that they could have done better.

"It would seem as though you are on the brink of defeat. This was far easier than I had ever expected. You lay on the ground now the shell of a once great warrior. Now you are nothing but a pathetic excuse of a life that needs to be removed!" Smile left his happy, wired tone and he and Frown spoke this phrase at the same time, in the same voice.

Smile and Frown started to walk towards each other. As they approaced, they returned to their former being, Bizarre.

Let's go." With this, Bizarre and Bonecrusher left and with this the greater threat was revealed to them. Who exactly were these people, who was this master, and what was their endgame. Alas, no one knew, and they went home hoping to one day find the answer. However one member of the team was of particular interest.

William went home and took a shower. After getting out he gazed into the mirror. In a fit of rage, he punched the mirror. While looking into the cracked mirror a object began to appear around his face. It was a mask split in half between a smile and a frown. The mask also had several different designs on it, chief amongst which was the line that went down the eye, almost resembling that of a scar.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Last Will

Episode 2: The Great Escape

Austin and William were in the heat of a battle. The score stood untouched as both the boys had only just taken their first move. Austin had just declared the start of his turn when something unusual had happened. Neither of the boys had looked over and seen Austin’s mom standing there emitting a furious emotion. Austin had kept her waiting in the car for more time than she had ever cared to spend. She grabbed Austin by the ear and spoke with a voice that can only be described as shrill and menacing. “Austin! How dare you keep me waiting over that ridiculous card game!” It was clear at this point that the game was over.

Austin declared, “This isn’t the end William!”

William replied with a smirk on his face, “You’re right, my friend. This is only the beginning.” With that said, William turned his back and began walking off to his ride. Austin could not help but gaze upon the boy as he walked away. What on earth did he mean it was only the beginning? Just as he was about to ask the boy, his mother pulled Austin towards the car. As he sat in the front seat, he could not help but think back upon all his adventures of today and what William had meant.

This was the where Team Last Will was born. Soon after the boys had countless duels together. Including duels with Dakota and Austin’s other close friend, Brandon. During that winter, William and Austin had an idea that would revolutionize both of their lives. The two had the idea to create a Yu-Gi-Oh! team. This was not an ordinary team of individuals. This group had the combined skill that would make even the fiercest opponent to be fearful.

As the co-founders, William and Austin had just added a ton of responsibility to their normal lives. However, the two boys were up to task. Their first task as to assemble a group of people who would dedicate themselves to Yu-Gi-Oh!. The first was Dakota. His voice was deep and soothing. He was always a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. Also, Dakota had always been a great friend to Austin and William. With his long flowing golden blonde hair that was to his chest. He said he wanted to join the team. The next person to be asked to join the team was Brandon. Brandon was a short, thin character. However, what he lacked in size, he made up for with his passionate attitude. Brandon was always serious about the game and every move mattered to him. A simple mistake was not to be tolerated and he strove for perfection with every card placement. He also agreed to be a member of the team. Following this trend was Austin’s cousin Johnny. Johnny was a man of many words. He often spoke his mind and has such, he and William did not always see eye to eye. However, after just having recently began Yu-Gi-Oh! Johnny showed promise. This promise got him the invite to be the 5th member of Team Last Will. His tall, skinny nature and bold attitude often countered that of his shorter cousin. He spoke with a bold, booming, slightly high pitched voice. The thing about Johnny was no matter what mood a person was in, Johnny could make them laugh. This added boost of confidence and moral was exactly what the team needed and as such, he became a crucial cog in the team, along with all the other members. These 5 are often known as the originals.

The next group of people to be added to the team were not like your average Joes. These individuals were part of their own team. They went by the name Team Macro Cosmos and they are as fierce as the name leads you to believe. Their leader, Cole, was probably the fiercest of them all. He had a deep voice and a strong demeanor. If you had just met Cole, you were often afraid to talk to him. He had a commanding voice and a fierce opponent on the battle field. Cole was of average size yet his personality made him seem like Goliath. This is probably the time to mention that Cole and William are often viewed as rivals. While this may not happen off the field, on the field the two pit their very souls against each other and give the duel everything that they have. The next member of this team was Martin. The thing about Martin is that he is a caring guy. He is more often than not, helping anyone he can. However, Martin had a very indecisive personality. His strive for perfection leads to many tough decisions. When he would be unsure he would look to Cole for an answer as to what to play. Martin managed to swing his way through life with his caring, happy attitude. He was tall and had a golden perm. That is to say his hair was curled in every direction possible and he loved it. The next member of the team was Bryson. Bryson, similar to Johnny, had a joking attitude. He was always trying to get the next laugh from whoever he could. Bryson also had the notorious record of being a ladies man. He was tall and he had long hair. Not long like Dakota’s hair, but like that of a skater. His hair often was in his eyes and he was constantly sweeping his head to the side to get it out of his eyes. These 3 were assimilated into Team Last Will and are crucial to the survivability of the team.

The next group of guys belonged to no team. These were the people that got William through the horribleness that was secondary school. Meet Chris and Griffin. Chris was a short guy with a big smile. He also just recently learned to play the game. While he may not take it as seriously as some of the members, he was as crucial to the gang as the next. He also had the biggest heart of the entire gang. Then, there was Griffin. He was a tall, skinny fellow. He was very well know for being a very relaxed, easy-going person. However, do not let this personality fool you. He was a gigantic jokester and was an amazing friend. With these, the member count was brought to 10.

Then there was Presley. He was a dear friend of Cole and was, well, Presley. He had a rigid personality that took some getting used to. His voice was higher than the normal guy’s voice and he acted like a 5 year old. However, Presley could make you smile. With all these people on the team to make people smile, it seems strange that anything could ever happen to make the team upset. But there was the day that everything went wrong.

It was a routine Saturday like usual. The gang had been at the card shop like usual. They had participated in their local Yu-Gi-Oh! tournament. However, what conspired after these events would change their lives forever.

It was winter. The sun had fallen and the moon had arisen to take its place. While the gang was leaving in its merriment, something odd had caught their eyes. A man was stood in the middle of the parking lot, as if he was waiting for them. He was only a shadowy figure of average height and average weight. He had a duel disk in front of him and his eyes, though barely visible, were glowing red. The man threw a card down on his duel disk and a big behemoth of a creature descended from the heavens. The creature open its mouth and a gigantic ball of magma approached the at the boys. Without hesitation, the gang ran away from the ball headed for them. They dived away and looked back as a gigantic crater appeared where they were stood. This was no ordinary man and his creature was to be reckoned with. However when the guys went to confront the man, he had vanished. Cole exclaimed, “Quick, I think I see him over there!” The boys then began the chase to learn who this mysterious figure was, what he wanted, and what he was capable of.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Last Will

Episode 1: The Start of a New Generation!

It was just a normal day for our protagonist. He had short black hair, and had really poor eyesight. His lenses were larger than his fingernails. His name was Austin. He was a conservative guy. The clothes he wore were very lack luster. It was as if under no circumstance did he want to draw attention to himself. What he lacked in socialness, he made up for with his superior intellect. However, Austin lacked common sense. He was always very studious and only talked to a few people throughout the day. Austin was on his way to class, running early as always. He got there and set his stuff down and flopped in his desk. Last Saturday, he participated in his local Yu-Gi-Oh! tournament. However, he did not do as well as he hoped. Coming in at 10th place, he was upset with himself. He pulled out his cards examining what he could do to make his deck stronger. Just then, another boy came in. His hair was long and he had a trench coat on. He said to Austin after putting his stuff behind, "Hey man. How's it going?"

Austin replied to the boy, "Oh, hey Dakota," he said in a very monotone, low, depressed voice. Austin had been looking at his chaos dragon deck wondering if there was even a point to continue dueling. Little did Austin know, his life was about to change forever.

Just as Austin was about to put away his cards, yet another boy walked up to Austin. Dakota was really the only person Austin ever talked to and so he was shocked when another boy came up to him. However, this boy was different from the others. He was tall and tan and had a smirk on his face. Not only was this boy different in his demeanor, he also was wearing different clothes than everyone else. He had a button up shirt and a tie around his neck. He was dressed as if he was about to go to a business meeting, but Austin could tell that he had no where important to be. The boy spoke. "Hey, mind if I sit here?" Austin was surprised; usually he was either bullied or was complimented on how quick he could solve a Rubik's cube. Never had anyone except his few friends wanted to sit next to Austin, so he wanted to satisfy his curiosity and he agreed to the boy. The boy sat down next to him and started off the conversation," So, I see I'm not the only one here who loves Yu-Gi-Oh!. You know there are a lot of us that play Yu-Gi-Oh! actually. Oh, forgive me. My name is William. What’s your name?"

Austin looked at William dumbfounded. Not only had he met someone new since starting high school; he also met a duelist. The two exchanged laughs and Austin and William became friends, along with Dakota. However, the fun couldn't last forever as the teacher walked into the room. The guys had to stop talking because class had started.

After the bell, Austin hurriedly ran out of the classroom. There was no way he would spend another second in that place. After getting most of the way down the hallway, he heard a voice call out to him. "Hey! Austin, wait up!" It was that William kid again. After catching up to Austin he said something that he thought he would never hear anyone outside of Dakota and his close friends say at school. "Austin! I challenge you to a duel!"

Now, keep in mind that the story told in this day and age is different than our current times. In this time, the "Duel Disk" had been created, meaning monsters on Yu-Gi-Oh! cards could be projected as holograms.

Austin was astonished but replied, "I would love too!" It had been decided. William and Austin were to be the first duel held on school grounds! After school let out, the two boys headed outside to the parking lot. Austin said, “I hope you are ready, because I don't intend on holding back!"

"I wouldn't have it any other way!" William stated.

"Very well!"

The two boys drew 5 cards and were ready for action. They both yelled simultaneously, "Duel!" Austin 8000, William 8000.

"The first move is mine," Austin yelled. "I draw! I'm going to start out by placing a monster face-down, and next I am going to play 2 cards in my spell/trap zone. With this I end my turn."

"Then allow me to make my first move. I draw! First off I activate my spell card. Onslaught of the Fire Kings! I can only activate this card if you have a monster on your side of the field and I don’t. This card allows me to special summon one fire beast, beast-warrior, or winged-beast monster from my deck.” Soon after the boy had finished his statement, a flaming ring had appeared in front of the boy. Austin’s face turned to sheer astonishment as the circle began to spin. Soon, a pillar of flames had appeared. Wings burst out of either side of the pillar. This was clearly no ordinary creature. It’s looks resembled that of a phoenix and from the looks of him, he was a force to be reckoned with. William declared triumphantly,“With this card I special summon my Fire King High Avatar Garunix!” Atk = 2700.

"So you special summoned a monster with 2700 attack on your first turn!" Austin yelled.

"Relax," William said with a reassuring smile on his face. "The monster special summoned by this effect is destroyed during the end phase of this turn. Next, I enter my battle phase and Garunix will attack your set monster."

"Reveal! Rkyo, Lightsworn Hunter!" Def = 100. Ryko had an appearance that resembles that of a white hound wearing plate armor. “When Ryko is destroyed, I am allowed to destroy one card on my opponent's side of the field. Ryko, destroy his Garunix! That's not the only thing that Rkyo does though. He also sends the top 3 cards of my deck to the graveyard."

"What? You are sending your deck to the grave? What are you up to?"

"Of the cards that were sent to my graveyard, one of them was Wulf, Lightsworn Beast! This card is special summoned to my side of the field whenever he is sent from my deck to the graveyard!" A large, well, wolf appeared after this. He was humanoid in look, but savage in nature. Atk = 2100.

"I see. So, your deck excels after sending cards from the deck to the graveyard. Well when you destroy my Garunix with Ryko, I will special summon my Fire King Avatar Yaksha from my hand." A humanoid tiger appeared on the field. He looks rivaled that of Wulf. Atk = 1800.

Austin appeared puzzled. "Why would you summon a monster with less attack than the one I have on the field?"

"All will be revealed in time. Until then I will place two cards face-down and end my turn."

"Not so fast! I reveal my spell card! Mystical Space Typhoon! With this card I can destroy spell or trap card on your side of field! I choose the card on the right!” The trap card Mirror Force is revealed and shatters into pieces by the typhoon.

"Clever! If you had attacked, Mirror Force would have destroyed all face-up attack position monsters on your side of the field. By destroying my trap, you managed to avoid this fate."

Austin let out a smile. He had impressed his opponent. "If you liked that move," Austin yelled," then wait until I really get started!"

William replied, "Hit me with your best shot!"
